INVESTMENT STRATEGY

CIM Capital

Capital and know-how for companies at a turning point

We invest in SMEs that are operationally sound but under financial pressure. Where others see risk, we see a business with potential and an opportunity to build value together with management.

Beyond capital, we take an active role: hands-on from the board of directors, with operational support from our team and senior advisors.

What we look for

€10M – €75M revenue

Established SMEs with a meaningful scale, a recognised market position and a team worth building on.

Sector agnostic

Special situations arise in every industry, so we do not limit ourselves to specific sectors. We invest across industrial and service companies, with a particular affinity for B2B businesses and specialised niche players, often with an international footprint.

Viable, but under pressure

A sound operational core that is held back by too much debt, a liquidity squeeze or an unsustainable structure.

Situations

Refinancing

We strengthen equity and renegotiate the financing structure, so the company regains the room to operate and to invest.

Insolvency procedures

From judicial reorganisation (WCO / GRP) to a restart after bankruptcy through a pre-pack, we bring the capital and expertise needed to give a healthy activity a new future.

Carve-outs & succession

Activities that lack attention within a group get a dedicated owner. When succession is urgent and no successor is ready, we step in with capital and management capacity.

How we invest

We mainly take majority stakes, which allows us to act quickly and decisively in situations where time matters. Where the case calls for it, we also consider a minority position alongside the existing shareholders.

Our tickets range from €2M to €12M, with room for follow-on financing. Every structure is tailor-made: equity, quasi-equity and co-investment alongside management, built around the specific situation.

Our approach

01

Change

The first 100 days: regaining control of cash, open dialogue with banks, suppliers and employees, and a clear restructuring plan.

02

Invest

Bridging the financing need and strengthening the balance sheet, combining fresh capital with a negotiated solution for creditors.

03

Manage

Active governance through the board, monthly reporting and hands-on operational support from the CIM team and our advisors.

04

Exit

Redirecting the company towards growth and preparing a well-timed exit to a strategic partner, financial investor or management.
